Sponsor Love: Loren Hope's New Site

I wanted to give a special shout out to Loren Hope and here beautiful new site + brand revamp. I could not imagine a more perfect platform to host her beautiful pieces and I am so honored to have her as a sponsor her on S&S.  I am completely smitten with the entire design - the gold and black color scheme, the clean font, and gorgeous LH logo. All designed by the insanely talented Sarah Tolzmann of Note to Self {you all know how much I admire her work}. LH and ST, a match made in heaven.

So pop over, wish Lauren well, send her sweet tweets, tell Sarah that she rocks...because the two of them deserve it! Then, if you'd like, scoop up a few goodies for yourself {and Valentine's Day is a couple weeks away!}. This special Roxy necklace is flirting with me through the screen.

Congrats Loren! She's beautiful.

Currently Obsessed

Just a little collection of recent favorites from around the web. Have you seen J.Crew's new arrivals for Spring? They are amazingly fun {dying for this and these}, but no surprise there.  Also, I have recommended this dress and this necklace to two clients recently - one has a wedding in Florida and the other is prepping for her new husband's med school graduation in California. Don't you love the sophisticated and chic color combo? Understated, yet gorgeous! And, don't even get my started on LR's new bags - that little pouchette {also loving this neon red option} is too cute not to tote everywhere. Plus, I am pretty positive their rainbow clutch will pop up somewhere around fashion week, it is too good not to feature in a street style photo. What have you been eyeing lately?

Also, I added a new little Shop My Favorites feature to my right sidebar. Click on the button to browse through what I'm currently coveting, items that I've been suggesting for my clients, and my favorites for Spring.

Outfit: Rainy Day

When the weather isn't so great, I tend to pull out items from my closet that have a lot going for them. Leopard print, leather, sequins, metallics - anything that I can throw together and feel like I put a lot of thought into what I'm wearing. These are the items that I like, they don't need much - they build an outfit all on their own. Add a punchy pop of lipstick, some sparkly baubles, and you're ready to take on the nasty weather but feel like you're brightening up the day.

GOAB: Splurge/Save: The Pashli Satchel

I'm going to say it...I am not a huge fan of the Pashli Satchel {however, this one is pretty cute}. I think the style is a bit too large and industrial for me, which is why I am loving the mix between Phillip Lim and Celine in this Topshop option {which also comes in burgundy and blue}. I like that it's a bit more sleek and sophisticated, the perfect tote to take to work and tote around on the weekends!

What do you think?

GOAB: The Bib Necklace

A fabby necklace in a bunch of bright hues! The perfect statement necklace to pair with everything. I personally am loving the white {wouldn't it be fun with a chambray shirt?}.

GOAB: Neons Under $100

Topshop Lace Skirt {$80.00}  //  Sole Society Francesca Heels {$49.95}  //  Club Monaco Tank {$39.50}  //  F21 Retro Baseball Cap {$5.80}  //  ASOS Faux Pony and Leather Clutch {$52.62}  //  Bauble Bar Earrings {$44}  //  Alexis Bittar Block Ring {$95}  //  Target Sleeveless Sheer Dress {$28}  //  LOFT Colorblock Sandals {$34.50}  //  J.Crew Dyed Denim {$40}

There is nothing better than a little neon and a nice tan, don't you agree? Which is why I've been searching for reasonably priced items for my upcoming vacay {and Spring/Summer}. Above are a few of my favorite neons from around the web, and all under $100 :)

Stay tuned for two more #GOAB posts coming your way today!

Recent Happenings

Days at the office and the beginnings of a very good year, I have some exciting news on the horizon!

Some of my loot from the J.Crew sale - unfortunately they are all no longer available.

These boots have been on high rotation the past few days...

...along with lots of easy layers {and my DRD rings!}, for cozy weekends.

And now here we are! Hello Monday, on to another week...
{chalkboard wine glasses from here!}

Sunday Shop

There aren't too many brands that I can justify like Joie. Not only do their pieces work in Chicago, but their California-chic style especially wins me over when I'm dreaming of warmer weather. How lovely would it be to prance around the city in an easy and effortless ensemble like the above? I'll keep dreaming...

Happy Weekend

{via}

Happy Friday, friends! Isn't it always such a relief to wake up and welcome today? It has been frigid here in Chicago, and this image seemed extra refreshing after a chilly week. I mean how adorable is this little coach legacy bag? I am loving the watermelon color {and it comes in navy and tan}, so fun for warmer days ahead. Coach has really stepped up their game lately, and I am digging it.

Have a great weekend! xo

Warby Parker Home Try-On Kit

The fine people over at Warby Parker sent over a home-try on kit for me to play around with. I have been on the hunt for new glasses ever since mine went missing and I'll never turn down a new pair of sunglasses. This was actually my first experience with WB and I am seriously so impressed. I highly recommend if you're looking for new specs, and you can't beat the price tag.

So, I have a decision to make. Which glasses would you choose?

I love the tortoise print on the Downing, but maybe too small for my giant head?

These ombre Winston's are so much fun, and a much better shape for my face. But, too big?

The Preston is fun and also a little bit retro. A good mix between square and round shape.

Now, onto some sunnies...

I love the chic and sophisticated shape of the Everett, but are they too close to my Celine's? I'm such a sucker for tortoise shell sunglasses.

And finally, the Jasper {with a side of sass}. So fun and retro inspired, which I've been meaning to try!

So, what do you think? I am going to pick one optical and one pair of sunglasses, so any input would be completely helpful in this difficult decision!

This post was sponsored by Warby Parker. I would never work with a company that I did not personally like and/or think best reflected the general aesthetic of this blog. All selections and opinions are my own! Thanks!

Outfit: Four Degrees

J.Crew Coat  // Madewell Sweater {no longer available}  //  Paige Denim  //  J.Crew Scarf {old, but similar}  //  Sperry Topsider for J.Crew Snow Boots  //  Calypso St. Barth Hat {old, but similar} //  UGG Gloves  //  Dana Rebecca Rings

It was approximately four degrees when Dave snapped these photos of me. Hence the layers and extra bulk necessary for maintaining my inner body temperature. Our weekend up north was exactly what I needed - away from our apartment, away from busy life, and a place where we could have a fire lit 24 hours a day. Pretty perfect when some serious frigid weather moves in to the midwest!

Let's Escape

It is currently 3 degrees in Chicago, so let's pretend that we are embarking on a tropical getaway, shall we? The truth is, every March my family goes on a little "spring break" together, our yearly family vacation {as my siblings and I grow up, we still revert to our childhood when we are all together}, which I am anxiously anticipating! We are going somewhere new, which is always a fun adventure - more on that later. For now, I am dreaming of all things warm, accented by nautical stripes, pastels, and bright neons. So I ask, where would you escape to?

Dainty Rings from DRD

At the end of last week, I spoiled myself and splurged on a couple of Dana Rebecca Designs Sylvie Rose rings in rose gold and yellow gold. I had been admiring them for awhile and after becoming friends with the ladies behind the lovely Chicago-based brand, I visited the showroom and was totally sold. I have told you about DRD before, but seriously you guys, her designs are so stunning and special. Each item is made in 14K gold layered with gorgeous diamonds, such a treat when you're shopping for yourself {or a loved one!}.

Next on my list is this, and how perfect would this be for your nearest and dearest for Valentine's Day?

If you're looking for something special, I recommend stopping by DRD. You won't be disappointed!

Outfit: Working Girl

Sandro Dress {similar}  //  Commando Tights  //  Jack Rogers Booties  //  Zara Trench {similar}

There is something about a little black dress that makes you feel like you can conquer the day. Living in a city where you are constantly rushing to grab public transportation, running to the office to grab files before meetings, and racing to lunch, it is necessary to wear something comfortable but sophisticated. This is one of those dresses that quickly paid off its price tag. Between days at the office, meetings, drinks with my girlfriends, or dinner dates with Dave - this dress has seen it all.

Sunday Shop

Introducing a fun little Sunday post featuring some of my favorite looks from around the web. I adore all of the fun little elements of this outfit, so feminine and chic.

Happy Sunday!

Weekend Style

As much as I'd love to pretend that I can wear all of the beautiful spring items filling my favorites stores {drooling over this, this, this, and this}, I am currently experiencing 9 degree temps so unfortunately the outfit above will have to do. Hope you're all enjoying a cozy winter weekend!

Happy Weekend!

Hello Friday, you took forever to get here. I am happy to report that after a long week, I am finally feeling like my old self. Trust me, do everything in your power to avoid this nasty flu going around, it will knock you off your feet. Dave, Webster, and I are retreating to my family's farm tonight for some snowy R&R. Apparently there is a foot of snow up there so I am anticipating lots of fair isle sweaters, wintery walks, warm fires, and movies. Next week I will be diving head first into a handful of client closets and wrapping up a few fun e-consulting projects. If you're in need of some help getting a grasp on your wardrobe - email me! Give you and your closet a little love. Have a great weekend! xo

Detailing Your Home

Now that Dave and I have lived together for five or so months, I feel like things have settled and it's time to polish off our apartment. All of the larger pieces are in place, so I am focused on the details - some new pillows, a few decorative accents, and wall art to bring the whole room together. So tell me, where do you spend and save when it comes to decorating your home? Any favorite places to shop?

Outfit: Dramatic Shoulders

I bought this top while I was in Paris {tear} over a year ago and it has received more compliments than any other item in my closet. I adore the dramatic shoulders, and what you can't see is that it is made in a silk star print with a big bow on the back. When a top has details like this, it is sure to make its way into my closet.
