Have a wonderful weekend!

I am packing my bag and heading back to Chicago this afternoon, preparing for a long weekend of work followed by 4th of July festivities! I hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend.

Outfit Post: Beachy

Lilly Pulitzer Tank, Anthropologie skirt {old}, Loren Hope Samba necklace, Jack Roger Glitter Navajos c/o, Anthropologie sunnies.

Hi friends! I escaped the city for a couple of days to work by the beach with my momma. We have been enjoying the sunshine, working by the water, biking for coffee in the morning, and enjoying looong dinners while watching the sun go down. It's been a nice little escape from reality in preparation of busy weeks ahead {I can't wait to share some exciting news in the coming months}.

I had to snap a few shots of my mom because she looked so cute in this Rachel Zoe dress that I am dying to steal from her, her Jack Rogers wedges are pretty cute too.

Hope you're all enjoying your week!

PS: I am guest posting on Domestikated Life today sharing my favorite summer soiree essentials!

Silky Scarves

These scarves are really pretty. The last two are my favorites, the one on the bottom left is called lipstick, how feminine and sweet.

Celebrate in Style

The 4th of July happens to be one of my favorite holidays for many reasons. Bloody mary's start at 9am, my hometown has a huge parade full of high school bands and old men on bikes, the entire day is filled with outdoor parties, friendly hello's, celebration and fireworks - what's not to love? Being that America's birthday is exactly one week away, I thought I would pull together some nautical inspiration to help us assemble some festive attire of our own...

Red, white and blue - quite the combo wouldn't you say?

Do you have any fun plans for the 4th? What are your family traditions? What will you be wearing? I'd love to hear!

PS: I'm sharing some summer essentials on Daily Crush today! Pop over if you'd like.

These are my obsessions.

{Sung to the tune of Usher's These Are My Confessions}.

Today I want to talk about some of my obsessions. Grace shares her favorite things on a monthly basis so I feel like it inspired me to wrap up all of my faves into one post...hence, my obsessions.  This song will be in your head all. day. long. Now, I don't necessarily own each and every one of these items but I'll explain my obsession below...

NARS Multiple Stick in Orgasm, NARS Lip Lacquer in Nude Beige, NARS Lipstick in Heat Wave, NARS Blush in Orgasm - Nars beauty products really do it for me. They are pigmented and don't seem to fade as fast as other make up does. Trust me, I don't wear a lot of makeup I don't know how to put on makeup and some how this makes me look like I can.

Clarisonic Mia 2 - Pretty much the greatest thing to ever happen to my skin. I use it every morning and it leaves my skin feeling smooth, tight, and squeaky clean.

Essie Polish in Fifth Avenue, Clambake, and Lollipop - If my nails are painted {which they usually are} it is one of these three colors.

Honeydew Lacey Bralette and Boyshorts - Ok, let me clarify that on a daily basis I wear Hanky Panky's. However, sometimes I want to feel pretty {not sexy, I don't know how to be that} which is why these separates are perfect. I love wearing them with a white tee and old jeans.

Bauble Bar - I know you love them, too. The perfect place to find all of your jewelry essentials at amazing prices. I am currently coveting the Geranium Studs, the Disco Ball Bangle, and the Spearmint Bauble Bib

Rebecca Minkoff Ostrich Swing Bag - This has yet to be mine, but I need her.

Rifle Paper Co. Market Shopping Notepad - You may not know this about me, but I love to go grocery shopping. Well, I love to cook and therefore love to go grocery shopping. This little notepad is pretty much my favorite thing to fill out, such a pretty list to take to the store.

J. Crew Receipt Pouch - This little beauty has replaced my wallet, isn't she lovely?

Diptyque Candles - This obsessions is a bit excessive. At the moment, I have three Diptyque candles scattered throughout my apartment. My favorites are Figuier, Mimosa, and Baies

Chance Striped Tees - If you love stripes, it is worth every penny to invest in a Chance tee. They hold up in the wash, they are a bit old school, and you'll pair them with everything

Oliver PeopleS Eyewear Alivia Sunglasses - the perfect hint of tortoise with a retro feel, the newest addition to my collection.

Superga Fantasy Cotu Sneakers - These are enroute to me at the moment and I can't contain my excitement. I imagine I will be wearing these with a white sundress, my neon pink shorts, and my new favorite skirt

So, what obsessions of yours do I need to know about?

Slipping Away

Every year I am completely surprised by the arrival of the 4th of July and it tends to make me feel like summer is slowly coming to an end. I am always disappointed that I didn't do enough to enjoy summer in Chicago so I've decided that this year I am going to anticipate this feeling and run with it.

Now is the time to get started on my mini herb garden, make those popsicles that I've been pinning like crazy, take time to read a book {or two}, relax by the pool, entertain some dinner parties for no particular reason, go for walks, run outside, and spend a few days on the lake.

What do you plan to do before those summer days are gone?

Happy Monday!

ES Style: Closet Overhaul

Good morning! Today I wanted to share a few photos from a recent client closet overhaul with Julia's mother. Julia and her family decided to gift my services to her mom for Mother's Day {so sweet!} and we had a blast tackling her seriously enviable closet which was packed to the brim with fabulous clothes.

We went through almost every single piece of clothing, decided what worked and what didn't for her body type, packed up about 8 bags of clothes to give away and seriously thinned out her wardrobe. This was only half of her closet, there is a whole other half yet to be tackled. I will share the photos once this project is completed and I am able to color code all of the pretty racks and shelves.

If you're interested in my services, email me!

Home Necessities

First of all, thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your comments on yesterday's post about styling with boys. I will definitely take your advice and ask for his opinion, make sure the couch is comfortable, keep the walls more neutral {except maybe at least one wall of wallpaper}, and accent with whatever I please. I would have to agree, I think my style is going to come out in the details, and here are a few favorites that I am trying to budget for...

Where do you save and splurge in your home? We are trying not to spend a ton of money on the furniture which is saving us money to decorate, but it is so difficult!

Building Your Space

In September, my boyfriend and I will be moving in together {woahhh!}. Actually he is moving into my current apartment that I share with my best friend, and together we have to make the space ours {not mine}. The idea of this sounds a bit difficult because throughout my styling history and general idea of what my personal style is, I have never had to worry about my feminine sense of style affecting a boy. So now we have to join our things and make them collectively run together in some sort of furniture and styling matrimony. But how does this work?

So, I am asking my sweet readers to give me some advice. Do you have any tips for decorating with a boy? Any unisex styling strategies to make both parties happy? I am going to try and not be influenced by the fact that I am constantly surrounded by style and allow the two of us to creatively work together. But, this can be tough because sometimes boys just don't get it. I'm thinking lots of gallery walls, stacks of books, and secret purchases while he is at work.

What do you think?
