Pressure. We all feel it at one point or another, most of the time it is self inflicted but sometimes outside sources test you and tell you it's time to step up your game. I've been feeling the pressure lately, but really in the best way possible. A way that has me looking at my peers as inspiration, that has me thinking outside of the box, and has me wanting to step up my game. Instead of focusing on a few of my disappointments, I am relishing in all of the little victories I have seen over the past year. Good advice from old Abe Lincoln. I am not going to lie, this summer was a bit of a distraction, and with multiple weekends away it always felt difficult to get back into a groove. Did anyone else feel this way? But I am going to say that fall is my season, and September is my month. I have a few exciting things in the works like a fun announcement in the next week, a trip to NYC {hello NYFW!}, and a week of fall trends on the blog. The perfect way to welcome my favorite time of the year.
What do you do when you are under pressure? Do you flourish or does it tend to get you down?

Yayyy NYFW!!! And when do I get to meet you?!
ReplyDeleteDitto Viviana! Can't wait :)
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you and that you get to go to Fashion Week! That is such a dream of mine! I thrive under pressure but that isn't to say that when I am under pressure I always am able to handle it without any meltdowns.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this today Liz. It was well timed.

I definitely get stressed, but when I feel the pressure, I always try to step it up. Knowing other people are counting on me keeps me going in the best way possible. I'm hoping September can be my month too! You've got this Liz! I can't wait to hear all about NYFW!
ReplyDeleteWhen I am pressured I generally get stressed and am not the most fun person to be around relationally speaking (need to work on that). However, it tends to help me work wise. I'm thankful for such inspiring people out there (like yourself) that keep me thinking outside the box. Excited for what is to come for you!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I hear you. Lately between day job, volunteering, blogging, and other things, I've been feeling swamped. I'm also heading to NYFW though! What shows are you covering?
ReplyDeletePressure is usually just what I need. Congrats on all of your big things in the works + I'd love to bump into you at NYFW!

I definitely flourish under pressure--it's how I get some of my best work done! I will say, when I get too overloaded, though, I tend to crack. I just can't let myself get too swamped!

Don't forget, diamonds are made under pressure :)
ReplyDeleteI am SO in this boat right now Liz. And I tend to crash. Wish I was the opposite :/
ReplyDeletei usually thrive under pressure, but i have found that my work is definitely best when i plan it out in advance and don't feel rushed.
ReplyDeleteYesterday was I diagnosed with gestational diabetes. It's been a rough pregnancy and all day I was in a sour mood. I woke up this morning and tried to count all my blessings. I get to have a baby and experience pregnancy (something that took my so long to achieve). Yes I'm disappointed that it's not perfect but I am overjoyed by all I have accomplished. THANK YOU for posting this quote.
