Here is something you probably didn't know about me; I really like to fish.
Since I was seven years old, my dad has taken me on a week long fishing trip with our closest family friends...which were always all boys. Over the past few years my brother has taken my place but this year we decided to make a family trip out of it, so today I am headed to Ontario, Canada to replace my ballet flats with wellies and fish for nine hours a day for the next five days. The best part about it? There is absolutely no cell phone service or internet in the tiny cabin resort where we stay. I can honestly say that this is probably the first time I will be completely disconnected from the world in a good three years, which will feel kind of weird but also amazing.
So if you are trying to get ahold of me over the next few days, I promise to return your emails/questions/comments once I return on Monday! Until then I'll be taking in the fresh Canadian air, bundling up in my favorite fisherman's sweater for those 60 degree nights, eating fresh fish, and soaking up some time with my family. Sequins & Stripes has some fun posts coming up over the next few days, so don't worry, it will be like I never even left. :)

Welcome to Ontario! My brother, Dad and I used to go on fishing trips up north and it was always the best time. Hope you have an amazing week!

Love this! I hardly had any internet while I was up in Wisconsin and it was such a pleasant break. I panicked for the first day, and then you just come to accept it and it's blissful. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family and that you catch some big ones! :)
ReplyDeleteUm....I hate fishing but maybe it's because I didn't look this cute!

ReplyDeleteHope you had fun! x
Hope you are having fun up here - but I hope you are going much further north to get those 60 degree nights you mention. Here in Southern ONT it is HOT n HUMID. Even at my cottage it is too hot for sweaters ...
ReplyDeleteSounds like an amazing getaway. Sometimes being disconnected can be so refreshing. My fiance loves fishing so I go with him when we visit his grandparents in Alabama. There's something so peaceful about the wait, and then it's so rewarding when you catch one!
