Every year I am completely surprised by the arrival of the 4th of July and it tends to make me feel like summer is slowly coming to an end. I am always disappointed that I didn't do enough to enjoy summer in Chicago so I've decided that this year I am going to anticipate this feeling and run with it.
Now is the time to get started on my mini herb garden, make those popsicles that I've been pinning like crazy, take time to read a book {or two}, relax by the pool, entertain some dinner parties for no particular reason, go for walks, run outside, and spend a few days on the lake.
What do you plan to do before those summer days are gone?
Happy Monday!

I completely agree -- the 4th of July makes me feel anxious! It's time to start eating al fresco and going to the lake.

ReplyDeleteit is insane how quickly it approaches. july 4th always seems like the peak of summertime and then it is downhill to fall from there, but THAT CAN'T BE! i haven't even started feeling summery yet! need to get on that asap.
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree- must take advantage of Chicago Summer ASAP!! Well, as soon as this move is over... but then, summer fun begins!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. I was just starting a post about my summer bucket list!
ReplyDeleteThis just completely reminds me about how I need to work on my summer bucket list! I know I have some down but not all!
ReplyDeleteCannot believe it's almost July 4! Scary how time flies. XO
ReplyDeleteIt's insane how quickly time flies. Mine is going to be filled with weddings, weddings, and more weddings... and trying to tackle everything I want to do before it ends!
ReplyDeleteAh those popsicles looks so delish! Time is going by so fast!
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous images! I have been wanting to make popsicles all week long! Maybe we should have a little popsicle making party one of these days! :)
ReplyDeleteI plan on learning enough about horse racing that I actually can bet and win :) LOL. But popsicles yes!

I agree- it always flies by! Love the sailboats btw :)
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way! Especially since 45+ hours of the week are spent inside under florescent lights.. ugh. I've decided I'm going to read on my roof every evening after work and enjoy as much of the longer days as I can!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe June is almost over! Summers really just fly by now. It's so sad. I'm hoping to get into a pool at some point! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you! I feel like the summer is going by so quickly and this always happen.
ReplyDeleteI definitely feel the same way! Since I'm not living at home this summer, I'm afraid I'm running out of time to sightsee where I'm staying! But I definitely wish I could spend a weekend in that last house - so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHit the beach as much as possible! I can't believe how fast it goes
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way! i love this post! 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays!

Don't mention summer being nearly over. I feel like it just started... I definitely plan on doing lots of running and inline skating outside, and sitting in my backyard, BBQ-ing with friends, before I take off towards CHICAGO in September. I'm so looking forward to this trip, but before that, I'm gonna enjoy summer here in Austria.

Wonderful and Marvelous
It's already 105 here in Dallas so I'm kind of ready for summer to be over ;) Or I could just move..or just eat those delicious looking popsicles every day!!! YUM! xxo
ReplyDeleteI have been pinning tons of popsicle recipes too! I need to get my act together and make some!
ReplyDeleteLet the popsicle making commence! I don't want to even play with the idea of summer ending soon. Completely joining in with taking summer by storm. Love your pictures, specifically the pink flowers, so cute.
ReplyDeleteSome of our best summer weather is in Sept / Oct here, so we've got a ways to go! I'm trying to get in as much beach time as possible :)
ReplyDeleteI want to make frozen chocolate covered bananas! was in cape may this past weekend and was so inspired by beach life, I had the same feeling that summer is already ending! We need to start living in the moment!

These photos are fabulous! You make me want to get outside and jump into summer right now. My favorite are the girls relaxing by the lake. Reminds me of my best friend and I who share our blog :) Check us out! xx, The Golden Girls
ReplyDeleteI've made a batch of popsicles, we've been grilling and hanging out on our porch as much as possible since we can't hang ot in the backyard (it's all tore up from a septic replacement). We're going to the lake next weekend and if I can squeeze some camping in some time in july, all will be well! No go make those popsicles!
