Slipping Away

Every year I am completely surprised by the arrival of the 4th of July and it tends to make me feel like summer is slowly coming to an end. I am always disappointed that I didn't do enough to enjoy summer in Chicago so I've decided that this year I am going to anticipate this feeling and run with it.

Now is the time to get started on my mini herb garden, make those popsicles that I've been pinning like crazy, take time to read a book {or two}, relax by the pool, entertain some dinner parties for no particular reason, go for walks, run outside, and spend a few days on the lake.

What do you plan to do before those summer days are gone?

Happy Monday!

  3. it is insane how quickly it approaches. july 4th always seems like the peak of summertime and then it is downhill to fall from there, but THAT CAN'T BE! i haven't even started feeling summery yet! need to get on that asap.

  14. I feel the same way! Especially since 45+ hours of the week are spent inside under florescent lights.. ugh. I've decided I'm going to read on my roof every evening after work and enjoy as much of the longer days as I can!

  17. I definitely feel the same way! Since I'm not living at home this summer, I'm afraid I'm running out of time to sightsee where I'm staying! But I definitely wish I could spend a weekend in that last house - so gorgeous!

  20. Don't mention summer being nearly over. I feel like it just started... I definitely plan on doing lots of running and inline skating outside, and sitting in my backyard, BBQ-ing with friends, before I take off towards CHICAGO in September. I'm so looking forward to this trip, but before that, I'm gonna enjoy summer here in Austria.

  23. Let the popsicle making commence! I don't want to even play with the idea of summer ending soon. Completely joining in with taking summer by storm. Love your pictures, specifically the pink flowers, so cute.

  27. I've made a batch of popsicles, we've been grilling and hanging out on our porch as much as possible since we can't hang ot in the backyard (it's all tore up from a septic replacement). We're going to the lake next weekend and if I can squeeze some camping in some time in july, all will be well! No go make those popsicles!
