With quite a few weddings coming up this summer, I am on the hunt for a versatile dress that can easily we worn to each ceremony while staying comfortable and on trend. I know that short dresses are typically expected for warm weather celebrations, but lately I have been completely smitten with the maxi options for formal{er} occasions. I love how dramatic and unexpected they are, but how soft they appear in a bright shade. However, I am realllllly liking this
navy Shoshanna dress. So help me, even a stylist needs some opinion sometimes!
What would you choose?
I love the idea of a long dress as an unexpected surprise- you will definitely shine and stand out! But that kelly green shorter dress would look amazing on you. It's a tough decision!!

Short. Definitely more versatile.
ReplyDeleteYou can wear it with a blazer, which works better than a longer dress.

Oh my goodness, they're all so beautiful! I've always been partial to short dresses though. I think I like the navy one best. It could easily be made more or less formal with accessories depending on the occasion.
ReplyDeletelove the short a&o dress! it can be dressed up & dress down, depending on the occasion!

Great choices!!! The navy short one is gorgeous though! I would say short, but you can't go wrong with these options!
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow maxi! Although short is definitely more versatile, that navy is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSuch a tough call - these are all beautiful dresses! That navy one is pretty, but seems a little more "sexy", whereas the maxi dresses are more sophisticated...depends on what kind of look you are going for :)

Both sets of dresses are equally gorgeous, but I am partial to how versatile the shorter options are! Love the Shoshanna & Alice & Olivia!
ReplyDeleteI am loving these pretty dresses! The Rebecca Taylor and the Shoshanna Natasha Dresses are my fav!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I just fell in love with that red dress - I love the unusual long length!
ReplyDeletei LOVE that purple dress!
ReplyDeletethe short purple dress is amazing. I love the fit and cut of the dress, it's very different and stunning. Pair it with a different piece of statement jewlery for each wedding and it will always feel new!
ReplyDeleteHave fun choosing!

Definitely the Tibi maxidress. I think a maxi dress is unexpected and just as versatile.

Long is way more unexpected! It is definitely more of a statement with bright color and length. But, you might have a lot of people looking at you/your dress (because it's so fabulous), so if you are concerned about taking attention away from the bride, definitely go for short.
ReplyDeleteI really want a fun maxi dress for the summer and that pink one might just be the one!!! So cute!!! xoxo Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteI love all three short dresses! But the maxi ones are all cute too! I guess I would make my selection based on the wedding/locations... They all would work so well!

I don't think I can pick! Love them all. But for myself, I don't do long dresses well, so I'd have to go short for sure. Great options.
ReplyDeletei love the shoshanna and the DVF. the navy dress is amazing, hot, and versatile. the DVF is unexpected and not *quite* so formal in the tea-length. plus it will show off some fabulous shoes!
ReplyDeleteThese are some fabulous dresses for spring/summer weddings! Thanks for sharing! x0, Jenn
ReplyDeleteI'm ALL about short dresses! Unless it's a formal wedding and then a gown would be what I'd go for. That Shoshanna navy dress is too cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about maxi dresses these days!
ReplyDeleteoooooo! I love all these bright colors! The style of the red dress is super fab! That green really caught my eye too, though! Get one short & one long! ;) Decision made!
ReplyDeleteThat navy blue Shoshanna dress is gorgeous!

What a hard choice...I am loving bright colors for this wedding season as well! I think my favorites would have to be the DVF or Shoshanna but I don't think you could go wrong with any of them!!

I LOVE the Shoshanna for short, and the Tibi and DVF for long. I'm the Day Dress buyer at Neimans, and Shoshanna and Tibi are two of my absolute favorite vendors. You can't go wrong!
ReplyDeleteAll of these dresses are amazing! I'm really loving the navy dress though! :)
ReplyDeleteit depends on where the wedding is. i bought a long dress last year for an august wedding in tulsa and it was awful. i was SO hot the entire time. my vote is the tibi ruffle dress, that color will look great with your brown hair!
ReplyDeletexo the egg out west.
I love the Alice & Olivia. Definitely short for versatility. But if you go long go with the Tibi. Gorg!
ReplyDeleteThe purple Alice + Olivia is on sale right now at Nordstrom... enjoy! http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/alice-olivia-rosie-silk-dress/3249098?origin=PredictiveSearch&resultback=4539
ReplyDeleteSuch great inspiration. I too, would choose the Shoshanna number. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI am such a maxi dress lover! That yellow Tibi one is perfection!
ReplyDeleteLove love love the Rebecca Taylor Corset gown and the Shoshanna Dress! So pretty! All your choices are great! Any one would be amazing!

I love how the long flows...very beautiful.
ReplyDeletethe long ones are gorgeous and so pretty for spring, but i have to go with the short navy!! much more versatile because you can add all different pops of color with it to change it up..from earrings to clutches, to fun shoes! great choices!! xo
ReplyDeleteThe navy is my favorite in this list!
ReplyDeleteI am a sucker for a maxi but I think I would have to go with the navy Shoshanna.
ReplyDeleteToo tough of a decision, bc normally I would go long, but those short options are fab. My favorite is the first blue one!
ReplyDeleteI love the effortless elegance that the longer ones exude. Definitely go long- set the trend this summer!
ReplyDeleteLove the navy and the yellow!
ReplyDeleteThat yellow Tibi dress is fun but also elegant - love it! I also really like the Alice + Olivia dress - cute cut and such a beautiful vibrant color for summer weddings. I've got quite a few weddings on the horizon as well and have been searching for the right look. Let us know what you choose :)
