What are your warm weather essentials? I tend to get ahead of myself when it comes to packing for a vacation. I bring way too many outfit options compared to the number of days I'll be away, which leads to a messy suitcase and a mess of outfits. I plan on bringing my J.Crew Farmer's Market tote, lots of summer baubles, my tortoise sunglasses, a few bikinis, and this new Alice and Olivia dress for date nights + sunsets on the beach!
So, two questions:
I am on the hunt for the perfect pair of wedges, any suggestions?
Any book recommendations? I need a good beach read!
Thanks, friends!

I LOVE your new Alice and Olivia dress. Absolutely PERFECT for your beach trip!

I really love the Everett by Warby Parker. They're only $95 and they're polarized. I can't think of any awesome wedges off the top of my head.
ReplyDeletekate spade "vero" is the wedge at the top of my list. can be dressed up or down. love the color of the A+O dress.
ReplyDeleteRead Little Bee. You won't be able to put it down!
ReplyDeleteADORE that sunny yellow dress and the pretty bikinis (where did you find them?!)!! If you haven't read the Hunger Games yet - you need to... They would be perfect for the beach. Summer Sisters by Judy Blume is also a favorite (I read it almost every summer).

ReplyDeleteAdorable dress!
ReplyDeleteI just got a beautiful pair of heavily discounted wedges at a Ferragamo outlet. Unfortunately I can't find a link, but good luck on your search!
I am a wedge aficionado. They are a staple in my life and my new favorite pair are the 'Diba Canvas Peep Toe Slingback Wedge' I got them in orange at South Moon Under...ah so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love those swimsuits! where are they from? I'd highly recommend The Paris Wife if you haven't read it yet! I read it during my beach trip and LOVED it. and then I watched Midnight in Paris on my flight home which was a perfect follow-up to the book

Such great essentials. Confession: I have that dress in three colors. (coral, nude, and cobalt.) I have problems. It is one of my favorite pieces, and I believe in buying multiples when something is truly awesome. It shows off the good (arms, legs,) hides the bad (stomach, hips,) and makes me feel all around fabulous. Love the bag. For wedges, I just got a pair from Stylemint that I love (they'll be on the blog at 2pm...) Victoria's Secret makes incredibly affordable ones, and for a splurge pair.... DVF, all the way.
ReplyDeleteLove your bikinis! And that Alice + Olivia dress is to die for!! I love wedges from Steve Madden--and they are usually super comfortable!

Those swim suits are adorable! I am going to stalk your comments for some good books to read...
ReplyDeleteI love your essentials. I've managed to find two pairs of Prada wedges at the Nordstrom Rack near my house. Do you have one there? They are super stylish and very flattering (don't make you look like you have elephant feet). I also love the Tory Burch Patti wedge slide (in all brown, no gold hardware)...it goes with everything and is super comfortable.
ReplyDeleteYay vacation! The last two page turners I read were The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (and mouthful, I know!) and The Hunger Games. Both amazing! I just got a great pair of wedges from http://www.urbanog.com. They're very inexpensive and therefore perfect for a vacation because you don't have to worry about them while you're frolicking in the surf ;)
ReplyDeleteYou must read Mindy Kaling's "Is everyone hanging out with out me?" It's so good!!!
ReplyDeleteAs far as packing goes, I always over pack shoes but then just end up wearing rainbow flip flops the whole time.
Marcy Dermansky's Bad Marie and Pamela Druckerman's Bringing Up Bebe were fantastic. I also love both of J. Courtney Sullivan's books, and they're wonderful beach reads!
ReplyDeleteThree cheers for vacation. I hope you have fun!
Liz! That dress is out of control! I am adoring it! Great cut and color!
ReplyDeleteBond Girl by Erin Duffy - total beach read.
ReplyDeleteIn Dallas, it gets so hot that I really like to wear as little as possible! If I could, I would just wear bikinis around but no one wants to see that! I'm not a big wedge person but I like all the "flatforms" and mini wedge versions! xxoo Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteI love that dress! Now I'm tempted to get the cobalt one :) I just ordered these sam edelman's..not quite wedges, but the thick heel should make them comfortable and they'd look great with the dress! ReplyDeleteI really like the A+O dress --- yellow is a great olor against tans with gold jewelry. fab!
ReplyDeleteI just read How to Love an American Man and LOVED it, a memoir every young woman should read. I am currently reading What Alice Forgot and am enjoying it so far, and (embarrassingly), loved The Hunger Games.
ReplyDeleteI am loving that necklace and dress!!
ReplyDeleteI've seen some pretty cute wedges at Target lately and then Nordstrom Rack always has the BEST wedges! Not sure if you guys have the rack there though.
ps...LOVE the new pic ;)
ReplyDeleteLove those bikinis! If you are looking for wedges, I think Target and Steve Madden make great ones. I'm on vacation right now and just finished The Hunger Games - the hype about these is true! Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart is great too!
ReplyDeleteOMG dying over that dress! I love the day to night vacay dresses -- the best! Have a wonderful time Liz!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is perfection!! And of course you have to take more than you need. You never know what kind of mood you will be in!!
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely loving the dress! So cute! If you haven't read the Hunger Games yet, it's a must read. Also, I just started reading The Lucky One and I'm liking it so far. I'm also looking for some cute wedges so if you find some great ones you should definitely post about them!

Aldo has some really great wedges! I got a wooden pair there last spring and have worn them to death since. They've also got really cute espadrille and cork ones in now, so definitely check it out! And I second the recommendation for Rules of Civility - I just read it on my beach vacation and couldn't put it down!
