Although my family has never celebrated this tradition, I know it is common to open a new pair of Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve for huddling around the tree on Christmas morning. Since sleepwear is making a comeback {not only for sleepy nights}, I love the idea of purchasing or asking for a new set of pretty pajamas. But what would you choose? I love the pretty silk options for a typical night, but I think I would prefer some cozy flannels for Christmas morning.
What are your thoughts?

My family doesn't have that tradition either, and I remember being envious of friends who did it because it sounded so cozy/festive! I love the silky shorts/top in theory, but flannel is more realistic for me. I love all of J.Crew's :)
ReplyDeletedefinitely the flannels! for some reason i always get new pajamas at christmas from my mom, we both love them! :)
ReplyDeleteahh! we do this! my brother's girlfriend introduced us to the tradition last year and i LOVE it. defiantly the way to celebrate (and relax) on christmas eve! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm typically a sucker for flannel and thermal knits for Christmas sleepwear but I love the idea of a silk PJ!
ReplyDeleteThis has my mother in law written all over it! Your picks are always just right.
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of the cozy flannel.
ReplyDeleteI do this with my husband! I get us cozy jammies for Christmas Eve, I love it. Its also fun because you get something new on Christmas Eve :)
ReplyDeleteLove the cozy flannel...totally my style!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny because we used to have this tradition but lost it as I got older. I'll have to get it started again :) Any excuse to be gifted pretty matching pjs!
ReplyDeleteI love the flannel! I'm also a fan of those J.Crew pajamas that look like men's pajamas. They're so comfy!
ReplyDeleteMy family has this tradition! I actually don't know anyone else that does it. We are told we get to open one gift on Christmas Eve... it's always a pair of pajamas. I request that mine are j.crew but sometimes they are lands end, etc for the matching effect in Christmas morning pictures. (I am one of 5 kids.) After we change into the new PJs we all play a game as a family.
ReplyDeletei like this idea too! i love the silks for around the house, but maybe for a family tradition, the cozy flannel.

my family totally does this!! except this year we switched it to thanksgiving b/c we always watch the parade in our pjs lol i love the cozy flannel!
ReplyDeleteThese pajamas are divine! I would have to go with the silk ones though because flannel wouldn't get much use in Texas!
ReplyDeleteEven though I prefer cotton PJ's (and flannel in winter) I'm loving that silk polka-dot set ;)
ReplyDeleteI usually go for cozy sweats with a chunky hoodie, but I love the idea of wearing something a little more refined.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I was thinking the same thing. I'm always wearing old tank tops and workout shorts that are too tattered to wear in public anymore - but lately I've been admiring "real" pajamas. I only have one pair of real pj pants and I love them. Sounds like an excellent tradition!
