Today is August 1st...can you believe it? Where have these warm summer months gone? And time in general. I know I am only in my mid twenties, but lately I am feeling short on time. I am currently spending the majority of my days in a job that I don't like, and why? Life is about passion, right? Spending this weekend with my family, opened my eyes to just how special {and short} our lives are, and how important it is to spend it being happy and satisfied with what you make of it. Alaina started her blog on a simple saying:
"Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself."
Life is about creating yourself. Words to live by.
So, today is August 1st. This month I turn 25, this month I am going to create the life that I want to live, and I am going to appreciate the little things. On this sunny Monday morning in Chicago, I am thankful for the simple pleasures that brighten my day.
LAFCO Peony candle, my morning cup of coffee, new Toms, a cheery Emersonmade pin, and bright Essie polish on my nails and toes.

Happy Birthday Month!!! My nails have been rocking braziliant almost the entire month of July, I love it so much! I'm on the hunt for some new Toms as well. Those are adorable!

ReplyDeleteThat first cuppa java in the morning totally makes my day! I hear you on time flying...I feel like I was your age, living in DC with my bestie like yesterday. Now we're in our early 30s, a mama and a mama to be. Crazy!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're starting off the month on a positive note, fellow August birthday buddy. And I totally relate to feeling like time is slipping away from you, especially when you're still trying to make your career and passions be congruent. But keep working at it, and you'll get there! I'm in the same boat, but I have faith that because I am making it a priority in my life, it's inevitable that I'll end up exactly where I want to be!
